Abbey Samet currently the Head of Merchandising and Wholesale at Solid & Stripe and is a former retail executive for Macys Inc where she held the role of Director of Global Forecasting in the Fashion Office. Abbey has over 20 years of experience as an innovative thinker, taking on roles such as Fashion Editor, Merchandiser, Strategic Advisor, Market Analyst, Buyer, and Trend forecaster for think tank, The Tobe Report and retailers, Saks Fifth Avenue and Kenneth Cole.

Abbey joined Macys INC in 2009 as a Fashion Director and her role then evolved to include Global Forecasting and Data Analytics to complement her ability to spot trends with the addition of data. Abbey has been prioritizing working with Fashion-Tech startups and advising several global companies on business strategy, corporate development and business solutions. Trends don’t just happen on the runway and Abbey has applied her innovative thinking and ability to spot the next big trends as it relates to consumer shifts.

Abbey has held mentoring roles for students at SCAD, Savannah College of Art & Design and fashion incubator, The St. Louis Fashion Fund. In addition, Abbey has served on the Board of Advisors for Shipsi, a Last-mile delivery solution and has advised for Omnilytics, a Market data insights platform. Most recently, Abbey is staying on top of NFT’s and the Metaverse and applications to the fashion industry.  In 2010, Abbey launched her own i-phone App, Haute Guide, a curated shopping guide for fashion companies and consumers. Abbey is passionate about fashion, but equally as excited by technology and how it can play into retail, e-commerce and consumer insights.
