Lauri’s career has been focused on her passion for building consumer brands that people fall in love with and driving outsized growth, from a variety of vantage points as a C-suite executive, board member and investor and at levels of scale from startup to multi-billion dollar revenue companies.
Lauri Kien Kotcher is currently the CEO of Quip and was most recently the CEO and Board member of The Shade Store. Prior to that she was the CEO of Hello products, a naturally friendly™ personal care company that has become recognized as an industry game-changer since Lauri joined in 2015. Hello was the only CPG company named as one of the Inc. Best Workplaces in 2019 and was acquired by Colgate in 2020.
Lauri’s prior roles include being a Senior Advisor on the LCatterton Operating Partner team, 10 years as a senior line marketer including serving as CMO of Godiva and Head of Global Brands at Pfizer Consumer Healthcare, and serving as a partner at McKinsey and Company and a co-leader of the consumer sector across her 15 year tenure there.
She has been a Board member and a strategic advisor to many fast-growth consumer companies, and has spent over 20 years helping women-led businesses gain access to growth capital as an advisory board member at Springboard Enterprises (venture catalyst platform for women entrepreneurs) and at The New York Fashion Tech Lab (a business incubator for early stage companies at the intersection of fashion and technology).
Lauri holds a BA cum laude from Princeton University and JD/MBA degrees from Stanford University. She serves as the Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Churchill School and Center and is an avid skier, tennis player and foodie.
