MARY ALONSO
Mary A. Alonso brings a broad perspective to fashion businesses, with deep experience from design to retail – online and offline. Her expertise bridges business analytics, marketing, merchandising and product development - understanding how the alignment of customers, product, promotions, and processes drives financial success. She has led multimillion-dollar businesses at top retailers, including Nordstrom, Spiegel Brands, Bloomingdale’s, and Macy’s.
From senior leadership roles in fashion management, Ms. Alonso transitioned to academia where she is dedicated to preparing the next generation of fashion business leaders. Currently at LIM College and formerly at the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD), she guides students to build the skills to thrive in the evolving fashion industry.
Passionate about career development and mentorship, Ms. Alonso serves on the Board of Directors for EDsnaps, a nonprofit empowering global STEM learners to become future leaders. Prior to joining the New York Fashion Tech Lab (NYFTL) Expert Network she supported women in the footwear industry as a mentor in TwoTen’s Women in Footwear Industry (WIFI) program. In addition, she offers career guidance to students at both Pace University and Rutgers University.
Ms. Alonso holds an M.B.A. in Marketing from Pace University and a B.A. in Psychology from Douglass College (Rutgers University).
