Qasim is an investor at Wittington Ventures -- a venture capital firm investing in the future of commerce. They are the venture firm of Wittington Investments, the private family holding company of the CEO / controlling shareholder of Canada’s largest pharmacy chain/beauty retailer (Shoppers Drug Mart), prominent fast fashion brands (Joe Fresh) and other retail companies in the luxury goods vertical (Holt Renfrew).
Qasim is based in Toronto and invests in companies throughout North America at all stages of the start-up lifecycle. Prior to Wittington Ventures, Qasim was building products in the enterprise software vertical and investing at OMERS Ventures — where he supported investments in companies such as Shopify.
In his spare time Qasim writes a blog called Fire Ant (fireant.co) which covers all things related to fashion, retail, and consumer brands. He also sits on the board of the Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards – an organization created to recognize and celebrate the outstanding achievements of emerging talent in Canadian fashion.
